If you've tried a few free online coding platforms and decided that you want to take the next step, we've compiled a list of the top coding boot camps in New York City. These boot camps are intensive programs that teach you highly specific skills in a short period of time. If you're committed to learning, going through a boot camp can quickly give you the skills needed to acquire a well-paying position.

General Assembly

General Assembly offers a 12-week Web Development Immersive boot camp, which begins by teaching basic concepts, front and backend web development, and finishes with you working on an actual project with a team. This course teaches CSS, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, and Node.js.

Currently, upcoming courses are offered on August 10th to November 8th and September 8th to November 30th, but you can check the General Assembly website to find future boot camp dates.

The camp costs $11,500, and General Assembly requires a 25-percent down payment in order for you to register.

Fullstack Academy

Fullstack Academy offers a four-week pre-course and a 13-week complete course. The pre-course teaches you basic concepts that you need to know in order to not be lost when you begin the actual 13-week course. When you show up for the 13-week Academy course, you go through an intense program that teaches computer science, front- and back-end development, programming, best practices, and data. The course ends with Fullstack Flight, a four-week program where the company helps you find employment. Fullstack boasts a 97-percent post-graduation hiring rate, which is one of the highest in the US, according to Fullstack.

Fullstack Academy reviews Node.js, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, AngularJS, SQL, CSS3, and many other languages. The course costs $15,680, but there are some scholarship opportunities available for certain demographics and financial situations.

Flatiron School

Learn a wide range of web development concepts at Flatiron School, which offers a 13-week immersive course. At the end of the course, you'll likely have developed three or four applications, which looks great on your resume.

You'll study HTML5, JavaScript, CSS (Sass & Less), Ruby on Rails, Ruby, Git, and much more. The course costs $15,000 to attend, but there are some scholarships available that could reduce how much you pay.

ByteAcademy

Learn HTML and CSS, JavaScript, Phyton, Django, Git, SQL, and much more at ByteAcademy. Begin with the four-week pre-course to get warmed up before beginning the intense 12-week course. One of the things that make ByteAcademy unique is that it offers four weeks of courses on finance after completing the 12-week training. The finance courses teach you important concepts that help you when you begin your programming career.

Registering at ByteAcademy costs $10,000, and they require a $500 payment to register.

Do More Research

While these are some of the more popular, high-quality boot camps in NYC, there are many more boot camps being developed and offered all the time. Before you spend thousands of dollars on a boot camp, consider doing some more research to make sure that you choose one that best suits you.
