Memorial Day Weekend is coming up and that means fun in the sun for all! At ICS, we thought you could use a resource guide for all the fun happening over all of the regions we service. Make sure you get out there and enjoy the weekend because we're sure your staff is doing the same. Don't worry about staffing this Memorial Day weekend, we'll still be here when you get back. 

2017 Memorial Day Events D.C.

National Memorial Day Concert

Indulge in a wonderful FREE concert on the West Lawn of the U.S.. Capitol. This concert is sponsored by PBS and feautres actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise, along with other guest artists and the National Symphony Orchestra. Sunday, Make sure you get there before the gates open at 5 p.m. on May 28.  The concert starts at 8 p.m. 

National Memorial Day Parade

Starting at the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th Streets, NW, a parade of Marching Bands and Veterans units from all 50 states will proceed along Consititution Avenue, past the White House, and end at 17th Street. It will be sponsored by the World War II Veterans Committee and is expected to include patriotic floats and helium-filled baloons. It will occur Monday, May 29, 2017, at 2 p.m.

Fleet Week

Fleet Week NYC 2017 is near! Honoring the members of the United States Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps, this seven-day celebration in New York City is an honored tradition. It kicks off with the Parade of Ships and continues with military demonstrations, a Memorial Day ceremony, and much more. You'll find much to celebrate and do during Fleet Week.

Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit

Do you appreciate art? If you do, you should check out the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit. Hundreds of artists from New York and around the world come to exhibit their art. Whether it be jewelry, metal work, ceramics, graphics, or oils and acrylics, it is showcased for all. See all of it at this sidewalk show from University Place at 13th Street to the West 3rd Street.

2017 Memorial Day Events Chicago

Chicago Memorial Day Parade

A tradition since 1870, Chicago has dedicated this Saturday to paying their respects to the U.S. military veterans. You'll find this procession march down State Street at noon and head over to Lake and Van Buren. If you get there before at 11 a.m., you'll be able to witness the wreath-laying ceremony.

Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival

Are you a fan of music? Check out the Belmont-Sheffield Music Festival in Chicago! In the season of music and festivals, this fest has been running for more than 30 years and features local cover bands.  You can also enjoy great food from vendors that are from the area.

2017 Memorial Day Events Denver

Denver Arts Festival

On May 27-28, you'll find Denver Arts Festival at Stapleton's Conservatory Green. The festival features arts and crafts from both Colorado artists and a select group of national artists. With a big turn out expected for this year, make sure you get there early.

Veterans Memorial Day Tribute

At POF Hall, 1340 Sherman St., you'll find an annual Veterans Memorial Day Tribute on May 27th, from 10 a.m. to noon. Honoring the fallen Colorado heroes and their families, this tribute witll feature music, storytelling, and ceremonial activities.

Big on fitness? CrossFit Blaine is hosting The Memorial Day Murph on Memorial Day to honor L.T. Michael P. Murphy, United States Navy (SEAL). Teaming up with Homes for Heroes, CrossFit Blaine will support this world-wide event by fundraising for real estate-related service providers who offer substantial rebates and discounts to the heroes who serve our nation and commuities.

Memorial Weekend Brew & Grill

At Midwest Supplies, on May 28th from Noon to 4:30 p.m, come together with others in the parking lot and bring gear to brew side by side with experts. You can also enjoy food that is hot off the grill. All admission is free!

The Great American Beach Party

Fourt Lauderdale Beach is a great place to be on Memorial Day weekend. Kickoff your summer with a beach party that is free for all. You'll enjoy live bands, a kids zone, DJ, sand castle contest, classic car show, tribute to the Armed Forces, an art show, and more. All of this is taking place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
